The A5191HRT is a single-chip CMOS modem for addressable Highway Addressable Remote Sensor Data (HART) field instruments and master nodes. The modem, in combination with a number of external passive components, provides all the functionality needed to meet the physical layer requirements of HART, including modulation, demodulation, receive filtering, carrier detection, and transmit signal shaping.The A5191HRT is pin compatible with the SYM20C15. See the Pin Descriptions and Function Descriptions sections for detailed information on pin compatibility with the SYM20C15.The A5191HRT uses phase sequential frequency shift keying (FSK) at 1200 bits per second. To conserve power, the receive circuitry is disabled during transmit operation and vice versa. This provides the half-time operation used in HART communications.
