The MC74VHC4066 uses silicon-gate CMOS technology to achieve fast propagation delay, low on-resistance, and low off-channel leakage. This bidirectional switch/mux/demultiplexer controls analog and digital voltages that vary over the full supply range (VCC to GND). The functionality of the VHC4066 is the same as the pin-out of the metal-gate high-speed CMOS MC14066 and high-speed CMOS HC4066A. Each device has four independent switches. The device design has a much lower on-resistance (RON) than metal-gate CMOS analog switches and is more linear with respect to input voltage. The on/off control input is compatible with standard CMOS outputs; with pull-up resistors, it is compatible with LSTTL outputs. For an analog switch with voltage level shifter, see VHC4316.
