The FOD3182 is a 3-A output current, high-speed MOSFET gate driver optocoupler. It consists of a gallium aluminum arsenide (AlGaAs) light emitting diode (LED) optically coupled to a CMOS detector with a circuit power stage integrating PMOS and NMOS output power transistors. It is suitable for high frequency driving of power MOSFETs used in plasma display panels (PDP), motor control inverter applications and high performance DC-DC converters. The device is encapsulated in an 8-pin dual-wire inner case and is compatible with 260°C reflow processes for leadless soldering machine compliance.

UC3842B, UC3843B series are high performance fixed frequency current mode controllers. These devices are specifically designed for off-line and DC-DC converter applications, offering designers a cost-effective solution with minimal external components. These ICs feature an oscillator, temperature compensated reference, high gain error amplifier, current sense comparator, and high current totem pole output suitable for driving power MOSFETs. Also included are protection features with input and reference undervoltage lockouts with hysteresis, cycle-by-cycle current limit, latch for single-pulse metering, and flip-flops for interval shutdown of the output every other oscillator cycle, Output dead time can be programmed from 50% to 70%. These devices are available in 8-pin dual inline plug-in and surface mount (SO-8) plastic encapsulation and 14-pin plastic surface mount (SO-14) encapsulation. The SO-14 encapsulation has separate power and ground pins for the totem pole output stage. The UCX844B has UVLO thresholds of 16 V (on) and 10 V (off), suitable for offline converters. The UCX845B is tailored for low voltage thresholds with UVLO thresholds of 8.5 V (on) and 7.6 V (off).

The NCP1083, part of ON Semiconductor's high power HIPO Power over Ethernet Device (PoE-PD) family, is a rugged, flexible and highly integrated solution for demanding medium to high power Ethernet applications. It combines an enhanced PoE-PD interface fully compliant with the IEEE D3.0 specification and the upcoming IEEE 802.3at (D3.0) draft specification with a flexible and configurable DC-DC converter controller in one device. The excellent features of the NCP1083 also support powering from auxiliary power sources such as AC power adapter and battery power, enabling smooth transition of applications from non-PoE to PoE networks, thus eliminating the need for auxiliary switching power supplies. ON Semiconductor's unique manufacturing process and design enhancements allow the NCP1083 to deliver up to 25.5 W of IEEE 802.3at (D3.0) draft compliant power and up to 40 W for dedicated high-power PoE applications. The NCP1083 implements IEEE 802.3at (D3.0) draft standard compliance, implementing a two-event physical layer class. Additional proprietary classification processes support bulk power supply equipment (PSE) on the market. These unique high-power capabilities will bring the clear cost advantages of PoE-enabled systems to a wide variety of products in emerging markets such as Industrial Ethernet equipment, PTZ and Dome IP cameras, RFID readers, MIMO WLAN access points, high-end VoIP phones, laptops, etc. The integrated current-mode DC-DC controller implements isolated and non-isolated flyback, forward and buck converter topologies. It has all the features needed for a flexible, durable and energy efficient design, including programmable switching frequency, up to 80% duty cycle, slope compensation and soft start. Manufactured using a robust high-voltage process, the NCP1083 integrates a rugged vertical N-channel DMOS with low-loss current sensing technology for the most demanding environments.
